EB2-5NU-L – NEC

The EB2-5NU-L is a miniature, through-hole mount, dual-pole double-throw (DPDT) electromechanical relay manufactured by NEC (now Renesas Electronics). It is designed for general-purpose switching applications requiring low signal integrity and moderate current handling. The relay features a 5VDC coil voltage and a nominal coil resistance of approximately 125 ohms, resulting in a typical coil current draw of 40mA. Contact rating is specified at 1A at 30VDC or 0.5A at 125VAC for resistive loads. The EB2 series is known for its compact size and relatively fast switching speed, with typical operate and release times in the range of 5-10 milliseconds. Insulation resistance between coil and contacts is rated at a minimum of 100 MΩ at 500VDC. It is commonly used in telecommunications equipment, industrial control systems, and consumer electronics for signal routing and isolation.
