The BC547 is a general-purpose, silicon NPN bipolar junction transistor (BJT) commonly used in low-power amplification and switching applications. Characterized by a collector-emitter voltage (VCEO) of typically 45V, a collector current (IC) of 100mA, and a power dissipation (PD) of approximately 500mW, the BC547 exhibits a relatively high current gain (hFE), typically ranging from 110 to 800 depending on the gain group (A, B, or C). Its transition frequency (fT) is typically around 300MHz, enabling its use in moderate-frequency circuits. The device is commonly available in a through-hole TO-92 package. Due to its widespread availability and robust characteristics, the BC547 is suitable for use in various analog and digital circuits, including audio amplifiers, signal processing, and basic logic gates where precise high-frequency performance is not critical.
