The TL2575-05IKTTR is a fixed 5.0V output, step-down (buck) switching regulator capable of delivering up to 1A of load current. Originating from National Semiconductor’s switcher portfolio (now part of TI), it operates from an input voltage range up to 40V. It integrates the main power switch and control circuitry, requiring only a few external components (inductor, diode, input/output capacitors) to form a complete buck converter. The ‘I’ designation typically signifies the industrial temperature range (-40°C to 125°C junction temp). Packaged in a TO-263 (KTT – D2PAK) surface-mount outline, which provides good thermal performance. Compared to the lower current LM2574 series, the TL2575 offers a higher 1A output capability. Applications include providing efficient 5V regulation in industrial controls, automotive systems (within temp range), telecommunications equipment, and as a higher-efficiency replacement for the classic LM7805 linear regulator where higher current is needed.
