The AVX TAP685M006 is a 6.8uF, 6.3V tantalum polymer capacitor, specifically designed for low ESR and high ripple current applications. Its molded SMD package provides excellent volumetric efficiency and robust mechanical performance, ideal for automated assembly. This capacitor exhibits a low ESR, typically in the single-digit milliohm range, minimizing power dissipation and improving circuit efficiency. The TAP685M006 operates reliably across a temperature range of –55°C to 105°C, making it suitable for demanding industrial and automotive environments. Commonly used for decoupling and filtering in power supplies, DC-DC converters, and portable electronic devices, its stable capacitance over voltage and temperature offers significant advantages over MLCCs in certain applications requiring high capacitance stability and ripple current handling.
