RXEF160-K – LITTELFUSE

The RXEF160-K from Littelfuse is a radial-leaded, through-hole PolySwitch resettable fuse belonging to the RXEF series. This positive temperature coefficient (PTC) thermistor provides overcurrent protection up to a maximum voltage of 72VDC. The device is characterized by a hold current (Ihold) of 1.6A, representing the maximum current the device will carry without tripping at a specified ambient temperature, typically 23°C. The RXEF160-K utilizes a polymeric positive temperature coefficient (PPTC) material which exhibits a sharp increase in resistance when the current exceeds the trip current (Itrip), limiting fault current and protecting downstream circuitry. Upon removal of the overcurrent condition, the device cools and automatically resets to a low resistance state, allowing normal circuit operation. The radial lead configuration facilitates easy insertion and soldering onto printed circuit boards.
