The Maxim Integrated MAX818LCSA-SO8 is a microprocessor supervisory circuit designed to monitor power-supply voltages in microprocessor systems. It provides a reset output during power-up, power-down, and brownout conditions. The device offers a precise reset threshold voltage, ensuring reliable system startup and preventing erroneous operation. Its primary function is to assert a reset signal whenever the monitored supply voltage falls below a preset threshold. Typically, the reset output remains active for a minimum of 140ms after VCC rises above the reset threshold, allowing the microprocessor sufficient time to initialize. The MAX818LCSA-SO8 features a push-pull reset output capable of sourcing 20mA. It operates effectively over a wide operating temperature range of –40°C to +85°C. The device is housed in a compact 8-pin Small Outline (SO8) SMD package, making it ideal for space-constrained applications. It’s commonly used in embedded systems, industrial controls, and portable devices to enhance system reliability. The device monitors 5V rails.
