The LM334Z/NOPB is a precision current regulator, specifically a thermally compensated bandgap reference offering a highly stable output current. Unlike many current regulators, the LM334Z/NOPB’s output current is directly proportional to its absolute temperature, enabling its use in temperature-sensing applications. Its output current is set by a single external resistor, offering design flexibility. The device operates over a wide voltage range, typically from 3V to 30V, making it suitable for diverse power supply configurations. Its output current can be precisely set from 1µA to 10mA, with a typical accuracy of ±2% at 25°C. Packaged in a space-saving SOT-23 (TO-236AB) surface-mount package, the /NOPB suffix denotes lead-free, RoHS-compliant construction. The LM334Z excels in applications requiring precise current sources, such as LED current limiting, charge pumps, and simple current-to-voltage converters. Its inherent temperature compensation simplifies circuit design, reducing the need for additional components compared to less precise alternatives.
