The onsemi BAR43 is a high-performance silicon Schottky diode designed for low-power rectification and signal switching applications. Its critical operational characteristic is the exceptionally low forward voltage (Vf) of 800 mV at 200 mA, which minimizes power dissipation in forward-biased states. A key design consideration for engineers is managing the trade-off between this low Vf and the relatively low repetitive reverse voltage rating (Vrrm) of 30 V; exceeding this can lead to increased leakage current (Ir) and potential device failure, necessitating careful circuit design for voltage clamping or transient suppression.
