Product Details:
The A3983SLP-T, manufactured by Allegro MicroSystems, is a bipolar stepper motor driver integrated circuit designed for operation within a supply voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V. Fabricated utilizing mixed-signal CMOS technology, this device incorporates internal pulse-width modulation (PWM) current control with fixed off-time. The A3983SLP-T features microstepping capability, facilitating up to 1/16 step resolution for enhanced motor smoothness and reduced audible noise. Protection features include thermal shutdown with hysteresis, undervoltage lockout (UVLO), and overcurrent protection on both high-side and low-side MOSFETs. The output drivers are rated for a continuous current of up to 1A, suitable for driving small to medium-sized bipolar stepper motors. This IC is provided in a 24-lead TSSOP (Thin Shrink Small Outline Package) with an exposed pad for improved thermal dissipation.
