The 88E1111-B2-BAB1C000 is a single-channel Gigabit Ethernet transceiver manufactured by Marvell. It implements the physical layer (PHY) functions for 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 10BASE-T Ethernet protocols. Fabricated using a CMOS process, this device integrates digital signal processing (DSP) for adaptive equalization and echo cancellation, enabling robust performance over Category 5 unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cabling. The transceiver supports Auto-Negotiation to automatically determine the optimal link speed and duplex mode. It interfaces with the Media Access Controller (MAC) via Reduced Gigabit Media Independent Interface (RGMII) or Gigabit Media Independent Interface (GMII). The device is packaged in a 117-ball Plastic Ball Grid Array (PBGA) with a defined ball-out for surface mount assembly. Power consumption is minimized through various low-power modes.
