The 5203-44TDN is a precision integrated circuit socket designed to accept a 44-lead Plastic Leaded Chip Carrier (PLCC) package. It provides a reliable electrical and mechanical interface for PLCC devices, facilitating device programming, testing, or replacement without direct soldering to a printed circuit board. The socket features 44 individual contacts, typically constructed from a beryllium copper alloy with a tin or gold plating to ensure low contact resistance and corrosion resistance. Contact pitch is standardized at 0.050 inches (1.27mm) to match the PLCC lead spacing. The socket body is molded from a high-temperature thermoplastic polymer, offering dimensional stability during soldering processes and providing electrical insulation between contacts. Retention features are incorporated to securely hold the PLCC device within the socket, preventing accidental dislodgement. The design allows for through-hole mounting onto a PCB.
