The SAFT 40LH220 is a primary lithium battery utilizing lithium-manganese dioxide (Li-MnO2) chemistry, providing a nominal voltage of 3.0V. Classified as a Memoguard battery, it is specifically designed for low-current, long-life applications such as CMOS memory backup and real-time clock (RTC) power. The 40LH220 features a cylindrical form factor, typically with a diameter of 23mm and a height of 2.5mm. Its construction includes a hermetically sealed case to prevent electrolyte leakage and ensure operational integrity over a wide temperature range, generally specified from -40°C to +85°C. The battery exhibits a low self-discharge rate, typically less than 1% per year at 25°C, contributing to its extended shelf life and suitability for long-term deployment in embedded systems. The 40LH220 is non-rechargeable and should not be subjected to reverse polarity or short-circuit conditions.
