Quadrature Decoder/Counter Interface IC, 16-Pin PDIP
Stock Quantity: 208
The Broadcom (formerly Avago) HCTL-2017-A00 is a CMOS quadrature decoder that offloads incremental-encoder decoding from the host processor, accumulating position in a 16-bit counter. Schmitt-triggered inputs and a clocked digital filter reject glitches from motor-drive noise, but because the filter samples on the system clock, clock rate caps the encoder edge rate the device can follow. In this 16-pin DIP version the cascade outputs are absent, so firmware must poll often enough to catch counter wrap-around.
The component is engineered for deployment in systems requiring high reliability and performance under specific operating conditions. It provides functional stability across the stated design envelope.
