Quadrature Clock Decoder
Stock Quantity: 0
The LS7083N is a monolithic CMOS quadrature clock decoder designed for incremental motion control applications. It accepts two-channel quadrature clock inputs (Channel A and Channel B) and generates direction (UP/DOWN) and pulse count signals. The device incorporates digital filtering to provide noise immunity and minimize the effects of jitter on the input clocks. The LS7083N features a maximum input clock frequency of 4 MHz and operates from a single 5V DC supply. The output pulse rate is directly proportional to the input clock frequency, with the direction output indicating the relative phase relationship between Channel A and Channel B. The device provides TTL compatible outputs and is typically used in conjunction with rotary encoders and linear scales to determine position and velocity. Internal hysteresis on the input pins further enhances noise immunity.
