Overview

The Vishay Siliconix DG642DY is a high-performance Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) analog switch designed for efficient signal routing in demanding applications. Its critical operational characteristic is the low 8Ω on-state resistance, enabling minimal signal attenuation. A key design consideration for this device is managing the trade-off between switching speed and charge injection; while its 100ns/60ns switching times are excellent for rapid signal changes, careful layout is required to mitigate the 40pC charge injection, which can introduce transient errors in sensitive analog paths, particularly at higher frequencies.

Key Features

  • On-State Resistance (Max): 8Ω
  • Switching Time (Ton, Toff) (Max): 100ns, 60ns
  • -3dB Bandwidth: 500MHz
  • Operating Voltage: ±3V to ±15V (Dual Supply)
  • Charge Injection: 40pC
  • Package: 8-SOIC (0.154″ width)

Applications

The component is engineered for deployment in systems requiring high reliability and performance under specific operating conditions. It provides functional stability across the stated design envelope.

  • High-frequency signal coupling in RF front-ends
  • Audio signal matrix switching in professional sound equipment
  • Data path selection in industrial control systems
  • Analog signal multiplexing for sensor data acquisition
