L298N – TBC

The L298N is a monolithic, high-voltage, high-current dual full-bridge driver suitable for driving inductive loads such as relays, solenoids, DC and stepping motors. Fabricated in a Multiwatt15 package, it integrates two independent half-bridge drivers, each capable of sourcing up to 2A at voltages up to 50V. Internal free-wheeling diodes are included for inductive load protection, eliminating the need for external flyback diodes in many applications. Logic inputs are TTL compatible, facilitating direct interfacing with microcontrollers and other digital control circuitry. Current sensing is supported via dedicated pins, enabling closed-loop motor control and overcurrent protection implementation. The device operates with a separate logic supply voltage, allowing for optimized performance and reduced power dissipation.
