The K815P is a single-channel Darlington output optoisolator in a 4-pin DIP package, providing galvanic isolation up to 5.3 kVrms. The device utilizes an infrared emitting diode (IRED) optically coupled to a Darlington phototransistor. This configuration allows for high current transfer ratios (CTR), typically exceeding several hundred percent, enabling the K815P to drive substantial loads directly. Key electrical characteristics include a forward voltage drop of approximately 1.2V at the IRED and a collector-emitter breakdown voltage (VCEO) of at least 55V for the output transistor. Switching speeds are relatively slow compared to standard phototransistor optoisolators, due to the Darlington configuration, with typical rise and fall times in the microsecond range. The device is suitable for applications requiring high isolation and moderate speed, such as industrial control systems and power supply feedback circuits.
