The DM74LS245WM is a bidirectional octal bus transceiver fabricated in low-power Schottky TTL technology, operating from a nominal 5V (5.25V maximum) supply voltage. Housed in a 20-pin Small Outline Integrated Circuit (SOIC) package with a 0.050-inch lead pitch, it facilitates asynchronous data transmission between two 8-bit buses (A and B). Direction control is achieved via a dedicated DIR input pin, determining whether data flows from A to B or B to A. The device features non-inverting logic, meaning the data presented at one bus appears identically at the other, subject to propagation delay. An Output Enable (OE) input, when asserted low, enables the transceiver; when high, it places both A and B ports in a high-impedance state, effectively isolating the buses.
