Vishay Intertechnology Inc. was founded in 1962 by Dr. Felix Zandman and is one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components.
Beginning with two product lines: foil resistors and foil resistance strain gauges, by 1985 it had grown into the world's leading manufacturer of these original products. The company also began an ongoing series of acquisitions to become a broad-line manufacturer of electronics components.
Vishay now has 20,900 employees with manufacturing plants in Israel, Asia, Europe and the Americas, producing a diverse portfolio of semiconductors and passive components, including diodes, MOSFETs (metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistors), optoelectronic products, selected integrated circuits (ICs), resistors, inductors, and capacitors.
It has grown over the years by conducting many acquisitions including top names such as Siliconix, GSI, BC Components, Dale and Beyschlag.
Vishay components are used across the industrial, computing, automotive, consumer, telecommunications, military, aerospace, power supply, and medical markets in all types of electronic devices and equipment.
Vishay's innovations in technology, superior product quality, and broad product ranges offer many different parts for each customer design. Innovative products include industry-first precision thin film surface-mount resistor networks with custom circuit capabilities, thick film power resistors with compact footprints, and through its R&D Vishay generates a steady stream of innovative components to help designers create new generation of end products.
