Molex is a leading developer, designer and supplier of interconnect products that can be found around practically every corner.
Molex developed and patented the first examples of the pioneering 2-piece pin and socket connection, which became an early electronic standard. Originally it was used in home appliances. It wasn't long though, before other industries soon began designing it into their products.
Today the Molex portfolio is extremely extensive, with over 100,000 products ranging from electronic, electrical and fiber optic interconnects to switches and application tooling.
Their capabilities are organised into 3 separate divisions :
Commercial Products division; providing interconnect applications and solutions for advanced engine, cockpit and infotainment functions in the transportation markets.
Micro Products division; this division develops the smallest connectors in the world – focussing on portable digital product applications.
Integrated Products division; producing higher level assemblies, typically in PCB, fiber optic, flex circuit and a wide variety of other applications.
